Unforunately There are people who like to take the fun out of Neopets and Scam People.
There are a lot of scams going around at the moment, Some of these Include,

False Login Pages
False Log in Pages Are usually Pages off Neopets, You'll be happy as anything and all a sudden you are directed to a Neopets Log In page.
A example of this is,
Your on a Neopets help site, Your looking at a game guide and then it says now test your skills! Click Here to play the game.
You click and it brings you into a Neopets login Page, So you login and then your directed to the Real Neopets Home page. While your thinking everything is great what you dont know is you have just filled in a form containing your Neopets details, This form has been sent to the previous sites email address and then all a sudden you have no Neopoints or Items.
Best way to prevent this Is, If you are ever redirected to a Neopets Sign in page, Close it and then go to neopets.com and sign in there, Majority of the time you will find yourself already logged in.
Email Scams
Email scams are usually were someone will offer to give your pets abilities, get you loads of Neopoints, get you rare items, or any thing that sounds good. All you have to do is change your e-mail address in your account settings to (example) Myemailaddress@Eamilscam.com once you have done this, (they will ask to have your password sent to the e-mail address given to Neopets) and they will log on to your account. As they will now know the password the one that you just changed! They will steal all your items and Neopoints and probably abandon your pets and Self freeze your account
(sometimes the scammer will use your account to scam the nexted person)
DO NOT change your e-mail address and Make sure you Report them to The Neopets Team.
Fake Neopets Team Members
Some people pretend they are Neopets Staff in order to scam you.
Remember Neopets Staff use one account and one account only to contact you Which is The Neopets Team View their account Here.
If you receive a message from anyone claiming to be Neopets Staff and they are not using this account, ignore them, and then Report them Straight away even if the user lookup says they are Staff,
Don't forget you can edit your Userlookup, and scammers may put that they are staff in their profile in order to trick you.
Remember Neopets Staff will NEVER ask for your password. You Will receive messages For the neopets Team from time to time but Mostly because of your auction Ending or Because someone has left you ownership or a guild.
Also, Neopets already has your password on their database, so they don't need to ask for it!
Some players may be Neopets Monitors - people that help look after the site.
If so, they will have a this message DonnaWilliams is a Neopets Monitor - This means that they are entrusted with looking after the site, and given the power to delete message boards and noticeboards. attached to the bottom of their Neopets Profile, You can view this Here
The code Scam
Ok so your Happily away playing on Neopets chattin to friends when suddenly you get an neomail from someone claiming they have a secret code that will get you loads of neopoints or items. All you have to do is reply to the neomail and enter some special "code", something like "(1947^&£* Followed with your password and all your pins and then exe=”8%*749*)". All this will do, is send your password to the scammer, and you've lost your account! There are no secret codes to get neopoints or items Anywhere On the internet!!!
However though you will get a code if you purchase Neopets Merchandise. (You can not get this with Neopoints!! You must pay Real Money)
Neo Sitting
Neo sitting is usually where someone may offer to look after your account for you while you are on holiday.I must ask, Why are you telling people you are going on Holiday??? Make an Excuse of Internet problems or Disconnection. Do not advertise your home will be empty Anyway they will promise stuff like to feed your pets so they don't get hungry, play games with them so your pets don't get bored, they will do your dailies for you and keep your shop nicely stocked.
This is a scam. What they will really do, is take your np and Items, Abandon your pets and freeze your account.
Dont do it! Your pets wont die and they wont hate you
report the user to The Neopets team straight away
Neopoints and Items Generators
This is a Famous one to my Knowledge,
So your chatting away on Neopets or Off Neopets (it does not matter) and someone says, “Hey I got loads of Neopoints, I have a generator on my pc, Its a program that makes your NP double everytime you use it. Why not give me your username and password and ill do it for you.” Wow you thinking this is great! I have a really kind generous friend
So you give them your username and password, sit back and wait for them to do it.
Meanwhile they are now on your account, Stealing Your NP.
They might come back to you and say “oh no it back fired, Ok I think you need x amount of NP (say 25k) For it to work,” with that you head off to earn 25k, so you get your 25k, get back in touch and then sit back while they generate it again. OH no guess what!! Its backfired again.
This is a common one of what ive seen. Main Tip I can give you, Just dont do it in first place, If your on Neopets when the conversation happens, Report them, if not just never talk to them again.
Cookie Grabbers, Key loggers and Trojans
Ok so there are many of you that wont of ever heard of these words, So I will write about the definitions of them first.
Cookie
a cookie is a small data file that contains your information/preferences from sites you visit, This usually holds, Usernames, Email address, Pins and Passwords.
Cookie Grabber (CG)
Cookie grabber is a program/script that tricks your browser into sending someone your cookies, Therefore they will have all your Usernames, Email address, Pins and Passwords ( they wont just be for Neopets, but all sites that anyone who uses your pc uses)
Backdoor Trojan
Back door Trojan is program used by a hacker to take control over your computer via the internet, This means every single file that your computer holds.
Keylogger
Key Logger is a program used to note every key your press on your keyboard.
Hacker
Hacker is someone who will use a program to gain access to your pc.
Cookie Grabber indepth
So someone got bored and stole your cookies?
There are many people who have no idea what a Cookie Grabber will even look like, or what it actually does for that fact. In this case these People dont actually know how to protect their computer. A cookie grabber is usually a blank popup that will appear and close very quickly, Leaving you to think “oh my pc just glitched, oh well, la la la” When in actual fact during that secound or 2 while it was opened, it tricked your browser into thinking you were still visiting neopets.com ( I will use Neopets as an example, You could have been on any site), so your browser sends your Neopets cookie to it ( another words your username and password).
If you were to ever open a cookie, you'd see nothing but strange and really odd coding. You may even stare at it for a while just incase its one of those weird pictuires you look at and then you start seeing a boat. TRUST ME IT IS NOT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT INFOMATION!!
All the hacker now needs to do is replace their cookie file with yours and then their in your account.
If you caught this quick enough, you can quickly change your password, As the hacker needs to replace Their cookie with yours, So if you act quickly change your password and they cant get into your account. BUMMER!
Once you have done this you should Log out and delete all your cookies. Heres how you can do this
Look on your tool bar for a picture of a bin, Click that, It should drop down into a menu, Make sure all boxes are ticked and then Delete complete history. You are now logged out of Neopets and all other sites, So log back in and do not click remember ME or SAVE PASSWORD
Hang on! Some web browers are funny and like to ignore that you deleted your cookies, well heres another way of doing it
at top you will see tools, Click there, Then go to Options (at bottom of drop list) Then Click Security options and Make sure REMEBER PASSWORDS IS OFF or un ticked.
Now you should be ready to go.

Ahhh Theres a stupid bar at the bottom of my pages!! Dont get annoyed, Just simply right click the annoying bar and go to options, then go to Notifications and simply tick the box hide after 5 secounds and then click ok.

Ok so your on a faerie quest, But you cant use the shop wiz as its “cheating”
Most people will use the boards topic like “help the fire faerie wants”
a lot of response will be where people have kindly gone to the shop wiz and found a shop for you that sells it.
However there are the odd few people, that will buy the items for you and put them in their shop, for you to buy from them
But whats really happening is, They brought the items for 1,599NP and then seeling it to you for 3.599NP, You dont know the difference because you cant check on shop wiz. So guess what! You just lost 2,000np.
Tip get a few people to help you and then go with the cheapest
Sick Pet Scams
a lot of people Try this one, “help me my pet is sick” Simple quick response, Go to the healing Springs!
Even if their pet is sick, The worst thing you can do is feel Sorry for them and help them with cure, They will go to the healing springs anyway and just sell the cure you kindly brought for them.
dont do it!
Account Swapping
Another well known one, So you see someone with a good account, Painted pets, Paintbrushes nice items, big shop, really cool. They offer to swap accounts. (a lot time they use excuse of this account bores me I need a new one so I can work up to getting one like this again) your left think yes!!! I will swap!!
So ahead you go, Given them your password and rest of details, They send you some too.
So whats the problem?? OH NO! There password doesnt work? Oh no you lost your account! Your now screamming why?! Why?! Why?
Nice easy answer to this! Because your a fool for giving out your details and Yes your were scammed!
Simple advise is dont do it!
General Help
Dont ever give out your password no matter how good it sounds
Dont ever change your email address to what someone tells you to
Always check you are viewing NEOPETS.COM before signing in. Especially if you were redirected to a log in page
If indoubt change your password anyway
Dont have a simple password like You dogs name123 all you have to do is let someone get to know you enough and about your dog and they guessed your password, Have something like woodenspoon901 or pompom23
